5 Great Things to do with your Photographs

Are you the next David Bailey or Ansel Adams?

Do you take lots of photographs?  Are you always snapping sunsets or food, landscapes or action shots? If, like me, you don't travel far without a camera close at hand, whether that is simply a mobile phone or a full camera bag of goodies, then you might like some ideas of what you can do with your fabulous images.

Yes, I know they might just sit on your phone and get posted on instagram or facebook to share with your friends and followers, but what about getting some of them in hard copy to see them in a different dimension?

Below are 5 great ways to do this.

I have used all the services listed below, apart from CreativeLive (I plan to take one of their courses soon) and I have advertising relationships with some of the companies in this post.  By having these I not only know that you’re in good hands, but in some cases you’ll even receive a discount and I’ll earn a small commission.

Anyway, without further ado...

5 great things to do with your photos

1. Creating your own high quality greetings cards is an easy task . You could make special cards for Christmas or birthdays, thank you cards are always a thoughtful thing to send for gifts or to thank friends for a meal / overnight stay etc. I have always used Moo for my cards, their quality is excellent and the uploading of images is simple to do. Below you can see the first set of cards I created, I was delighted with the results.

They also make fantastic business cards and flyers if you need any of these.

2. Decorate your space.  Have a set of cards printed in a square format and then peg them up on your wall (like a washing line!).  You can get 25 free photos from Parabo Press, you just need to pay postage. Link below.

You can also get
a free 5.5" Softcover Photo Book with Parabo Press too.

3. Make a calendar for yourself or family and friends featuring your own photos. I make calendars to give to my family at Christmas as a little extra.  Sometimes I use photos of family events that happened during the year, other times I do flower themes or landscapes.  I usually get these printed with Vistaprint. One of the great things about their calendars is that you can note down important dates such as birthdays directly on the printed calendar.

This is one of the first ones I created.

4. Hang some  wall art created with your own images. I recently tried a new finish, Alu-Dibond, which looks superb and is weather proof so perfect for the bathroom, where the pictures will be hanging.  I used a company called Saal Digital for these.

If you use this link you can get a £15 Welcome Voucher.

5. Become a self published author.  By creating a photo book you can document a story, maybe a holiday or event and then share it with others. I created my first book after a wonderful landscape photography course run by Light and Land.  One of the photographers showed me how this was possible by using Blurb.  It was a great start and my first book was called Looking and Seeing.

I have since published two other books with Blurb covering walking tours in Slovenia and in Spain. These were organised by Inntravel, who specialise in independent walking holidays.
