Fresh air, easy walking and autumn colour.
If the weather is fine and there hasn't been too much rain this short walk around Chelford in Cheshire is perfect for blowing away the cobwebs and enjoying the autumn colours or the winter frosts.Chelford is a small village in east Cheshire located between Knutsford to the west and Macclesfield to the east. This area of Cheshire has a number of sand quarries, some of which are still being worked and others, where the excavations have ended, have been landscaped and are accessible for walkers.

The red line below shows the route, heading eastwards to Stubby Lane and then you can either continue north up Stubby Lane, which I did, or head south down Stubby Lane to reach the Chelford Road and continue in a circuit back to the roundabout then right to return to the lay-by.
